Romans 12:1 (KJV)
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

God’s will for your life doesn’t start with your calling—it starts with surrender.

We often ask, “What is God’s will for my life?”
But before anything else, Scripture shows us clearly: His will is that we become a living sacrifice.

That means daily choosing to lay down:

  • our plans
  • our preferences
  • our way of doing things

And saying, “God, not my will—Yours.” That’s where alignment begins. God doesn’t merge into our will—we merge into His. And that requires surrender.

The challenge is this—a living sacrifice can try to climb off the altar.

We can have moments where we’re fully surrendered, and then moments where we take control back. That’s why this is daily. It’s not a one-time decision—it’s a lifestyle.

But here’s the good news: When you truly yield your will to God, you don’t lose—you step into something better. His will is not restrictive. It’s good, pleasing, and perfect. So today isn’t about trying harder—it’s about surrendering deeper.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What is one area of my life I’ve been holding onto instead of surrendering to God?
  2. What would it look like for me to truly say, “Not my will, but Yours,” in that area?
