Be Before You Do

Proverbs 3:3-4 NKJV
Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.

Being comes before doing.

We cannot just try to do without Christ. We have to be in Christ, and then we operate through Him, and He operates through us.

If there is anything heavy in our lives, it is because we are carrying it and not allowing God to carry it. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. If our marriage is heavy, our finances are heavy, our calling is heavy, or ministry is heavy, we need to ask if we are trying to carry it ourselves.

Everything comes from God. We have to go to God before we try to handle the things of the world. If not, it becomes heavy every single time.

Mercy and truth have to be written on our hearts. They cannot just be something we know. They have to become who we are. Mercy, kindness, and truth should define us.

If we want favor with God and man, mercy and truth have to be established in our hearts.

Here’s a challenge for you today: Ask God to show you where you have been trying to do before you have taken time to simply be with Him.
