Luke 9:23 (KJV)
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Following Jesus isn’t a one-time decision—it’s a daily one.

Jesus made it clear:

  • deny yourself
  • take up your cross
  • follow Him

That’s not occasional—that’s daily.

Denying yourself means choosing God’s way over your own. Taking up your cross means laying down your will and saying yes to His. Following Him means continuing in that decision.

This is where the real battle happens—not out in the world, but within us.

Our thoughts.
Our desires.
Our reactions.

Every day, we’re faced with the choice: Will I follow what I feel, or will I follow what God says?

That’s the cross. It’s not about carrying hardship—it’s about surrendering control. And here’s the truth: You don’t drift into God’s will. You choose it. Daily.

The more you say yes to Him, the easier it becomes to follow. Not because life gets easier—but because your heart becomes more aligned.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What area of my life do I struggle most to surrender daily?
  2. What is one practical way I can choose God’s will over my own today?
