Not every thought that runs through your mind deserves a place to stay.
When the serpent came to Eve in the garden, he didn’t change anything she was looking at. Instead, he asked one simple question: “Did God really say?” With one question, he changed the way Eve thought about what she was seeing. His strategy hasn’t changed.
That’s why Scripture tells us to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. We don’t have to entertain every thought that enters our mind. If it doesn’t agree with God’s Word, it doesn’t deserve a place in our heart.
The enemy only needs one question to plant doubt. But through the Holy Spirit, we have the authority to answer with God’s truth instead of believing the lie.
Today, don’t allow every passing thought to become a permanent resident. Measure your thoughts by God’s Word and choose to dwell on what He says.
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV)
“Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”
