2 Corinthians 10:5 NKJV
“Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”
One of the primary ways the enemy works is through deception, and the mind is one of the greatest battlefields we have.
Think about Eve in the garden. The enemy came with one question: Did God really say?
He still works that way.
Did God really say He would heal you?
Did God really say to forgive?
Did God really say to pray for your enemies?
Did God really tell you to do that?
The moment we begin reasoning with what God has already said, we have taken the bait.
Faith says, even when I don’t understand, I know that God’s Word is higher than my understanding. Our reasoning has to come under the Word.
The enemy is also a counterfeiter. A counterfeit can look so close to the real thing that an untrained eye may never recognize it. That’s why we have to know the Word and know the voice of God.
When something comes and you’re not sure, hold it up to the light. Hold it up to His Word. If it doesn’t agree with God, you can recognize it and say, That’s not Him!
Here’s a challenge for you today:
Pay attention to your thoughts today. When a thought causes you to question something God has clearly said, stop the reasoning and bring that thought back under the authority of His Word.
