Don't Blend In

Matthew 5:14 NLT

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.”

Camouflage is designed to make you disappear into your surroundings.

But God didn’t call us to do that. He didn’t call us to do that at all. God called us to actually stand out.

If you know Jesus and you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, “He did not intend for you to stay in the shadows. He did not intend for you to blend in and look like everyone else.”

You are going to stand out. You are going to be different.

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world.”

That means wherever God has placed you, there is a purpose for you. Family members, coworkers, friends, and people you meet every day may not know the Lord.

It is your purpose to illuminate the world around you.

Sometimes we put a basket over ourselves because shining that light can feel uncomfortable. But Jesus did not come to set you free just for you to hide.

Don’t hide it. Don’t draw it back. Don’t put a basket over it so nobody else can see it. You let that thing shine.

Here’s a challenge for you today:

Ask the Lord where you may have been blending in or shrinking back. Then ask Him how He wants you to let His light shine through you today.
