Ephesians 4:23 KJV
“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;”
Your spirit has to be fed.
The strength to handle life does not come from your flesh, your emotions, or your own ability to figure everything out. The strength comes from the Holy Spirit empowering your inner man. If your spirit is not being fed, then your thoughts, emotions, and flesh will try to take the lead.
There are natural things that come in life — grief, pressure, bills, physical attacks, relational struggles, and unexpected situations. Everybody deals with things. But the response has to come from the right source. The ability to handle natural things comes out of the health of your spirit.
Faith is of the heart. Faith speaks, and faith acts on being fully persuaded in who God is. That means your ability to speak to the mountain is connected to how strong your spirit man is.
You have to keep your spirit strong. You have to protect what is going into your heart. Watch what you look at. Watch what you listen to. Watch what you say. Watch what you allow yourself to be part of. The gates of your eyes and ears matter because what you continually feed will eventually lead.
If you want strength, you cannot only feed the natural man. You have to feed the spirit man through the Word of God, through prayer, through worship, through obedience, through loving God, and through loving people.
There has to be a priority before the to-do list. Before everything that needs to get done, there has to be time with the Father. You have to get filled on the inside and strengthened in the inner man so you can do what God has called you to do.
This is not about a ritual or a perfect formula. It is about getting before God and letting Him feed you. Some days may require more time in prayer. Some days may require more time in worship or in the Word. But every day should include surrender to the Lord — a heart that says, “Lord, here I am. Strengthen me, lead me, and help me yield to You.”
But your spirit needs time with God without distraction. You cannot stay spiritually strong if you are only feeding everything else.
Today, make feeding your spirit the first thing, not the leftover thing.
