James 4:6 AMPC

But He gives us more and more grace ( power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it).

God gives more grace.

There is grace for every situation, and it is all found in God. There is grace for how to deal with one person, grace for how to deal with another person, grace for a thought pattern, grace for grief, grace for decisions, and grace for the things we do not understand.

We are not pulling from this realm. We are pulling from heaven to deal with the realm that is before us.

One of the greatest hindrances to grace is self-righteousness. Pride can sound like, I can do this, I got this, I can handle this. But pride can also sound like, I will never be good enough for God.

None of us are good enough. That is why we need the Lord.

Humility is key. God gives grace to the humble. We must decrease so He can increase.

God is calling His people to stop chasing favor and start pursuing Him. Go to Jesus. Pursue Him. Allow mercy and truth to become established in your heart. Let wisdom become your pursuit. Let humility become your posture. Let grace flow, not occasionally and not seasonally, but continually.

Here’s a challenge for you today: Humble yourself before God and lay down pride, self-righteousness, your own understanding, and your own strength. Ask Him for a continual flow of His grace in your life.
