Speak Words That Impart Grace

Ephesians 4:29 NKJV
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

The words we speak are either going to carry life or death. They are either going to bless and impart grace, or they are going to tear down.

It is important what we say.

Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Our words are a reflection of what is happening in our hearts. When faith is in our heart and grace is working in us, it should affect what comes out of our mouth.

God’s grace divinely influences the heart, and then it reflects in life. That means grace should show up in our words, our actions, our attitudes, and the way we respond to people.

When we speak the gospel, grace and power are available. When we speak truth in faith, grace is released. When we pray in faith over a situation and give the glory to God, there is grace available through that prayer.

Do not let corrupt words proceed out of your mouth. Speak what is good. Speak what builds up. Speak what points people to Jesus.

You can extend grace. You can release grace. Your words can impart grace to the hearer.

Here’s a challenge for you today: Pay attention to your words. Before you speak, ask yourself if your words are building up, bringing life, and releasing grace.
