Get It on the Inside

2 Timothy 2:15 AMPC

“Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved, tested by trial, a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing, rightfully handling and skillfully teaching the Word of Truth.”

Studying is more than just hearing.

Accumulation of information is not study. Quoting the whole Bible is not study. That’s memorization. Reading is not studying. We have to get it deep on the inside of us.

Study gives us knowledge—“information, understanding, or skill gained through learning or experience; an awareness and an understanding of truth, facts, or reality.”

That matters because when life comes at you, you need more than something you heard once. You need the Word grounded in you.

When we study and we get the Word of God on the inside of us, we stop reasoning with everything that comes against us. We can answer with the Word.

Jesus did that when He was tempted, He repeatedly said “The Word says. The Word says. The Word says.”

He wasn’t trying to figure out what to say in that moment. He already had the Word on the inside.

Here’s a challenge for you today:

Choose one scripture or subject and don’t just read it—study it. Stay with it until it starts getting deep on the inside of you.
