Romans 5:17 NLT
For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
Sin binds, but Jesus sets free.
Through Adam, sin entered the world. Through Jesus Christ, freedom came. One man’s disobedience brought bondage, but one man’s obedience brought grace, righteousness, and new life.
When you receive the gift of the grace of God, you are free. You are no longer bound by sin. Sin no longer has power over you anymore.
But freedom is not just knowing the shackles are off. Freedom is walking out of the prison.
Faith gets the shackles off, but obedience walks it out. Faith receives freedom, and then we begin to live like free people.
Many people say they are free, but they are still living bound because they are not walking out their freedom by faith. Grace is available, but it is activated through faith.
Jesus has already made freedom available. Humanity has already been made free through Jesus Christ. The issue is that many people do not know it yet. That is where we come in. That is why we share the gospel. That is why we speak Jesus.
Be free, church. Walk in the freedom that has been made available through Christ.
Here’s a challenge for you today: Ask God to show you one area where you need to stop living bound and start walking out the freedom Jesus already paid for.
