2 Chronicles 1:10 (KJV)
Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people…
Solomon had an opportunity to ask God for anything—wealth, success, long life—but he chose something greater. He asked for wisdom.
That’s what stood out in this message. It wasn’t just that he asked—it was what he asked for and why he asked for it.
God is looking for our ask. The Word tells us to ask, seek, and knock. But many times, we either don’t ask at all, or we ask based only on what we see—our needs, our problems, our situations.
Solomon didn’t do that.
He said, “These are Your people. Show me how to lead them.”
That’s a different kind of prayer. That’s a heart that is aligned with God.
Sometimes we hold back from asking because we feel unworthy or not in the right place. But God isn’t looking for perfection—He’s looking for relationship. Even a simple “Lord, help me” is powerful because it reaches beyond yourself.
When you shift from asking for answers to asking for wisdom, everything changes.
God even responded to Solomon by saying because he asked for the right thing—not riches or personal gain—He would give him wisdom and everything else.
That’s the principle:
When you seek God’s wisdom, He takes care of the details.
So instead of just praying about what you need today, take it a step further:
“Lord, what is Your will in this situation? Show me Your wisdom.”
Because His wisdom will lead you into everything you’ve been asking for—and more.
