Micah 6:8 NLT
“No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”

God requires your heart before He requires your hands.

God does not want you to do ministry until you have been ministered to. You cannot save people until you have been saved yourself. You cannot bring someone to a place you have not been.

It starts in the heart.

God does everything through the heart. He speaks to us, directs us, and deals with the heart of the matter in every situation. So if we want to find our purpose and fulfill what God is calling us to do, we have to keep our hearts humble, open, pure, and holy before Him.

Micah tells us what God requires. Not thousands of offerings. Not religious performance. Not trying to earn His approval. He requires us to do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him.

That is intimacy before activity.

When our heart is right before God, the things of God are not heavy. Prayer is not heavy when your heart is for God. Serving is not heavy when you are doing it unto the Lord. Reading the Word is not just something you check off. It becomes a desire because your heart wants Him.

Purpose does not begin with doing.

Purpose begins with yielding your heart to God.

Challenge today:
Ask God to search your heart before you ask Him to use your hands. Say, “Lord, keep my heart humble, open, and willing before You.”
