Ephesians 3:16-17 NLT
“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him…”

We spend so much time trying to strengthen the outside while neglecting the inside. We want circumstances to change, pressure to lift, and everything around us to line up. But true strength does not come from the natural realm — it comes from the Spirit of God working in our inner man.

Paul prayed that believers would be strengthened “with inner strength through His Spirit.” That means God is not just trying to fix things around you; He is building something within you. The Lord wants your spirit strong enough to handle every storm, every challenge, and every assignment He has placed before you.

God has unlimited resources available for His children. There is no shortage in heaven. No lack of wisdom. No lack of peace. No lack of grace. The issue is never whether God has enough — the issue is whether we are yielding to the Holy Spirit enough to receive what He is trying to pour into us.

When your inner man is strengthened, you stop living only by what you see and feel. You begin to respond by faith instead of fear. You stop allowing circumstances to dictate your peace. Instead, the Spirit of God becomes your source of stability.

God works from the inside out. The world focuses on appearances, but God focuses on the heart. If the inner man is healthy, strength begins to flow into every area of life.

Today, don’t just ask God to change your situation. Ask Him to strengthen you spiritually. A strengthened spirit can stand in faith even before the breakthrough appears.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What areas of my life reveal that I’ve been relying more on natural strength than spiritual strength?
  1. How can I intentionally strengthen my inner man this week through prayer, worship, and the Word?
