1 Kings 17:7–9 (NLT)
But after a while the brook dried up, for there was no rainfall anywhere in the land. Then the LORD said to Elijah, “Go and live in the village of Zarephath, near the city of Sidon. I have instructed a widow there to feed you.”
Elijah obeyed God. He went where God told him. And for a time, everything worked—the brook flowed and provision came.
Then the brook dried up.
That didn’t mean Elijah missed God. It meant God was moving him to the next step.
Sometimes we assume that if something stops working, we did something wrong. But there are times when God allows a season to end because He’s leading you somewhere new. The key is not to panic—it’s to stay in His presence.
Elijah didn’t run away or give up. He stayed attentive, and God spoke again.
When something in your life “dries up,” don’t assume failure. Lean in and listen. God always has a next step, and His provision is never limited to one place or one method.
If you stay in His presence, He will guide you forward.
